1950's Handy-Hannah Blow Dryer Restoration
1950's Handy-Hannah Blow Dryer (215 Watts), which evidently took it some moisture at some point. Still works, although it doesn't even remotely have the power of modern units. How those at the time used it to dry their hair I can't imagine.
Appreciate you stopping in and check out my other restoration videos.

Vintage Lighthouse-Style Bird Feeder Restoration
Переглядів 3 тис.3 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. This isn't a very old piece; it's believed to be from the 1980's. My mother-in-law presented this to me with the understanding that it held sentimental value. Her late father was a bird lover and had this terrific lighthouse-style bird feeder outside his home for many years, as you can clearly see. The plan was not to have this piec...
Vintage Kitchen Scale Restoration - a rusty mess!
Переглядів 31 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. The flea market came through again with this rusty old 1950's scale that showed wonderful potential. Even looking like it spent a few months outside, it still worked perfectly. The biggest challenge was going to be the face, which was painted on and destroyed by rust - there was simply going to be no saving it. However, the power of...
Vintage Lasko Fan Restoration - Let it blow!
Переглядів 12 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. Vintage fans are some of my favorites. Instead of the plastic garbage being made today, these are all-metal beauties that were actually designed to be an attractive fixture in a room. This Lasko fan from the 1950's or 60's is certainly no exception. However, someone committed a major sin by covering up it's beauty with nasty black s...
Vintage Stanley "Sweetheart" Pipe Wrench Restoration
Переглядів 15 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. A $2 flea market find, this lovely old wrench spoke to me. With it's best days as a working wrench behind it, I figured I could spruce it up a little, bringing it's lovely vintage qualities more to the forefront. Who would think an old wrench could be a work of art? I tried my best. If anyone has anything they think I may find inter...

First was the film rewinder: ua-cam.com/video/PMkz_7pGWvc/v-deo.html Second was the grinder: ua-cam.com/video/Gr3Jk8qhhEI/v-deo.html This fantastic little device was sent to me by a subscriber, who agreed to let me restore it for him in exchange for showing the process on my chann...
Vintage Hand-Crank Grinder Restoration
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. This is the second of three in my "Hand-Crank Series". This little contraption actually works pretty good once you get it back up and running. It had a broken wooden handle, which gave me my first excuse to re-create one on a lathe. As always, thanks for watching and check out my other videos and subscribe! Camera: amzn.to/2YW3upJ L...
Vintage Neumade 16MM Film Rewinder Restoration
Переглядів 16 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. First in 3-part "Hank-Crank Series". This was a nifty little cast-iron flea market find that I found interesting. A relic that no longer has a practical use, I've been racking my brain on what kind of modern use it could be converted to. If you've got any ideas please let me know. If nothing else, it cleaned up nicely and would be a...
Vintage Can Sealer Restoration - an awkward monstrosity!
Переглядів 28 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. Another flea market find, this time a 1940's or 50's Canadian can sealer. This is a 25-pound iron behemoth that has some of the roughest castings I've ever seen. While a fairly straight-forward restoration, getting it apart took quite a bit of elbow grease as it was completely devoid of even one drop of any oil around the tight-fitt...
1936 30-pound Butcher Scale Restoration. Tough!
Переглядів 274 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. This restoration took an entire month and was by far my most challenging restoration to date. I was delighted to find a date of 5/36 inside this scale, which doesn't have a single piece of plastic on it and would work for 10,000 years if you kept it out of the elements. It was obvious it had been heavily used for decades, and someon...
1950's Juice-O-Mat Commercial Juicer Restoration
Переглядів 25 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used in this restoration are below. Stumbled across this rare 1950's large commercial Juice-O-Mat juicer. It's more than twice the size of those you would see in residential homes; it was more for a bar or juice stand. The chrome plating was destroyed so i decided to simply sand and buff until that original intended shine returned. Countless hours of sanding commenced...
1973 Nylint Trac Shovel Restoration
Переглядів 14 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used for this restoration are below This vintage Nylint Trac Shovel was in good working order, but had obviously spent some time in the elements, with a heat-warped windshield and plenty of rust on its innards. This was one top-notch toy for the period that must have made a young boy think he'd died and gone to heaven. It was a pleasure bringing it back to its former ...
Vintage 1950's Arvin Space Heater Restoration. Will it work?
Переглядів 38 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used for this restoration are below. Flea market find with a busted plug, so I wasn't able to verify whether or not it even worked before I dug into it. There's a reason why they don't make space heaters like this anymore; it would probably burn the house down if used regularly. There is no on/off switch - plugging it in was the only way designed to turn it on from th...
Vintage Stanley Planer Restoration
Переглядів 3,9 тис.4 роки тому
Links to some of the tools used for this restoration are below. This is an old Stanley Handyman planer from the 1950's or 60's that was a flea market find. The Handyman series was the budget series of planers, so this tool really doesn't have any value, even restored. However, it just called out to me, as these are beautiful when they are brought back to life. My focus wasn't really to make it ...
Vintage King Carousel Gumball Machine Restoration. Goodbye ugly green!

Links to some of the tools used for this restoration are below. This was a beat-up 1960's or 70's King Carousel Gumball Machine with stand. Yeah not a bad restoration, i probably would have done a bit more sanding or putty filling on the body and frame work. Plus i dont think that the blue would have been from that ERA, i would have gone for an Ivory colour, just to set it off. But all in all a good restoration, thank you for sharing this with us, matey. 👍👍

Awesome job restoring the can sealer. Even more awesome is that you managed to create a new manufacturer's label for the machine. It looks much better and it works like a charm, even though you did not have an unsealed can to test it with. Still, it is excellent work.

That is not an ugly lamp, it’s a cool lamp! Yup I would paint the outside part of the shade hunter green, the white inner part of the shade would been painted with white primer, followed by a good coat of glow in the dark paint followed by a coat of clear coat. Base of lamp hunter green & the stem would be black! Then would be an awesome lamp to use every day! 👍👍
